Fiddle Diddles
Fiddle diddles are a good no-bake cookie that are great for special event or just for an after dinner treat.
1. Butter or hard margarine------1/2 cup 125 mL
Granulated sugar--------------2 cups 500 mL
Milk---------------------------1/2 cup 125 mL
2. Cocoa--------------------------6 tbsp 100 mL
Quick cooking rolled oats-------3 cups 750 mL
( not instant)
Medium coconut----------------1/2 cup 125 mL
Chopped walnuts----------------1/2 cup 125 mL
Salt, just a pinch
Vanilla flavoring-----------------1 tsp 5 mL
You will need: a large saucepan, measuring cups, measure spoons, mixing spoon, a hot pad and wax paper on a cookie sheet.
1. Put the mutter or margarine, sugar and milk into the saucepan. Heat on medium , stirring often, until it comes to a boil. Remove the pan to the hot pad.
2. Add all of the remaining ingredients. stir well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the wax paper. Cool completely. Store in a container with lid with wax paper between the layers. Make about 40 cookies. ( that are really small)
These cookies i like to bake for school party's or just for a little treat after dinner. The cookies that always turn out good!!!
